15 Private School Proprietors Summoned To Justify Use Of State Subventions

Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe, Minister of Secondary Education has summoned owners of 15 private schools in the Centre, East, South and West region to justify the use of funds they received between 2014 and 2016 as state subventions.

French language daily, Mutations reported in today’s edition that the proprietors who were summoned on May 15 are expected to begin appearing before the national control brigade for private schools as from tomorrow May 23 for grilling.

The grilling, we gathered, will begin with private schools owners from the Centre Region after which the Littoral region will follow same day.

Summoned proprietors of dubious morals from the East and West are expected to show up for questioning on May 25.

The newspaper cites an anonymous source condemning the summons.

The source rather suggested government should focus on key issues plaguing secondary education in the country, instead of wasting time summoning school owners to justify the use of insignificant sums of money.
