Buea United FC capped off a golden moment on Saturday, August 17, winning their first trophy in eight years and also sweeping several awards at the Under 13 tournament in Buea.
And in more success to follow, the team also collected the Best Coach with Coach Emmanuel Agbor aka Alabas named Coach of the Tournament, Chinge Rivaldo winning the Man of the Match award and co-topscorer of the tournament while Tony-bless Onye Fon won the Golden Gloves.
Although the Under 13 of the club has existed for just 6 weeks, they were quick to come to the limelight with their recent exploit.
The trophy was the first for President Valery Kadji since taking over Buea United FC two years ago. With the El Supremo determine to take the club to the peak; the recent success is just proof of a work in progress.
It was also the first trophy for Coach Alabas with Buea United since signing a four-year contract with the task to transform the club and give results.
Out of eight games played in the just ended Community Football Tournament, Buea United FC scored 24 goals, conceded 10. They also won seven games out of eight games played.
