Promoted to the Southwest Regional League in 2019, Hiliare Onana Academy FC is becoming a big name in football in the region. Based in Buea, the club is one of the three clubs to represent the Southwest Region in the Round of 32 of the Cup of Cameroon.
This was achieved after their Sunday’s game against Options SA which they were beaten after post-match penalties 5-4. Despite the defeat, the club qualified as best losers to join Options SA and Istanbul FA to represent the region.
Throughout the cup, the club humiliated Dynamic FC of Buea 4-0 and will, later on, send Victoria United FC from the Cup in a 3-2 thriller that took place at the Tiko Town Green Stadium. To continue the quest for glory, they edged Tiko United FC in the 3rd Round 1-0.
The boys of Coach Serge Paul Bokagne have scored a total of eight goals in four games, conceding two and have kept three clean sheets.
They failed to score in just a single game and it was against Options SA in the final round of the Cup.
With talented teenage players like Ange Essama, Casemiro Boue, Franck Herve Bibout, and Brayan Dial Jason Bile amongst others, they are a squad to watch out for in the Regional championship.
