Indomitable Lions forward Christian Bassogog has offered the sum of FCFA to rescue Cameroonian students in Wuhan. Wuhan is the epicentre of the Coronavirus epidemic that has hit China since the end of 2019.
This information was published on the Facebook page of Afrik-Inform.com, stating that Bassogog has made a sum of FCFA 10 million available to Cameroonian students stranded in Wuhan in China because of the Coronavirus epidemic.
The Lions forward’s gesture came after that of the Head of State, who had instructed the Minister of Finance to make available to the Cameroonian Embassy in Beijing, in an emergency procedure, the sum of FCFA 50 million to assist these fellow citizens.
Going by the Cameroon Embassy in China, a census shows that out of 300 Cameroonians residing in Hubei Province, 200 are currently confined to the quarantined city of Wuhan.
