Buea-based businessman and owner of Eclipse Company Ltd, Kobi Celestine is doing his bit to support the fight against coronavirus – by donating hundreds of face masks to locals of Miles 16 and 17 neighbourhoods.
Kobit a dealer in wholesales and retail of drinks recently stormed these neighbourhoods distributing face masks to the inhabitants as the fight against the novel coronavirus gathers steam.
Speaking to this reporter after the initiative, the young businessman said it was an honour to help the less privileged persons to curb the spread of COVID-19.
He said: “Cameroonians find themselves today in an awful situation right. This is a ‘once in a lifetime’ crisis and I feel we all have to pull together to mitigate the impact of it.
“I wanted to help in some way but there is very little that I can offer. This terrible pandemic has touched the lives of everyone in some way.
“We all must try to look after each other as best we can.”
The Southwest region has witnessed more than 10 cases of COVID-19 with few deaths registered.
With the donation of face masks and sensitisation, it is believed that it will help reduce the number of positive cases in the region.
