The President of Eding Sport of Lekie, Saint Fabien Mvogo, has shared out some FCFA 3,500,000 to some 35 players and staff of his club.
Going by reports, the President of the 2017 Cameroon Elite One champions handed over FCFA 100,000 to each player to help them take care of themselves and their families as the world battle to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Mvogo, who also doubles as the President of the Centre Regional Bureau of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, handed over the financial incentive to the players during a meeting that took place recently.
Taking into consideration that these players have been out of duty for a month now since the league was halted, observers have applauded the gesture by the emblematic President of Eding Sport.
The management of Eding Sport did not wait on FECAFOOT to honour her promise even though officials of the country’s football management body had promised to take care of all the players of Elite one clubs in Cameroon.
It is believed that with the money, the players will be able to sustain themselves during this difficult moment and that if the country’s football management body honours her promise to elite one clubs, then the financial situation of Eding Sport players will only get better President Mvogo’s largess has also been lauded by soccer pundits in Cameroon, they are urging other club Presidents to also emulate the initiative to help the players fight against t the COVID-19 pandemic.
Created in 2012, Eding Sport FC under the leadership of El Supremo Saint Fabien Mvogo has been making wave in and out of the country. The club in 2017 won the Elite One championship and will in 2018 be crowned winners of the Cup of Cameroon.
