Limbe-based Non-Governmental Organization, Destiny Restoration Association in collaboration with Destiny Restoration Sports Academy restored hope in less privileged children as they donated didactic materials to these kids.
Some primary school pupils in the Motowoh neighbourhood in Limbe on Saturday, October 3 benefited some didactic materials as they prepare for the new school year. The pupils were given didactic materials like school bags, pens, pencils, exercise books amongst others. Close to 70 less privileged kids saw their dreams of having a great academic year polished as they received the materials with smiling faces.
Speaking during the ceremony, the CEO of Destiny Restoration Association and Destiny Restoration Sports Academy, Jesse Enow, said the gesture was meant at boosting the academic dreams of these less privileged children.
“As an orphan myself, I know the difficulties faced by less privileged children especially in the academic milieu. Some find it very difficult to get exercise books and other writing materials. We believe that with this, it will go a long way to help them this academic year,” Enow stated.
Targeting a total of 70pupils close to 200 children turnout for the ceremony. To handle this, the names and contacts of the other children who didn’t have materials were written down.
The beneficiaries thanked the association for the wonderful gesture while also hoping for more in the near future. “I thank the association for this gesture. It will really reduce the burden on my mom who has been struggling to see that I go to school. With what they have done here today, I promise the association and my parents that I will make them really proud,” a beneficiary said.
