High Internet Cost Access: Cameroon Ranked 5th In Africa

Cameroon has been ranked the 5th on the continent amongst countries in Africa with the with the most expensive access to internet.

This revelation was made by the Alliance for Affordable Internet, a worldwide advocacy coalition that recently released its 2017 report on Internet accessibility in the world.

In its report, the coalition is studying 58 countries, including the characteristics of their Internet market, and also accessibility to this service, they concluded that a digital revolution is taking place at the global level and that the trend has never been so strong for connectivity.

Despite this, they pointed out that the main obstacle to popularising the Internet is still the cost of accessibility of this service, which remains above the purchasing power of the average population, especially on the African continent. A reality that deprives a considerable part of the population of these technological services.
