July 30,2018 is a day never to forget to the population of the Bakweri Town, Sandpit area in Buea, as they experienced one of their greatest horrors in memory, after masked men of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) massacred youths in the neighbourhood.
According to reports, masked government forces stormed the Bakweri Town neighbourhood at about 1:45PM that fateful Monday, a Ghost Town with the BIR soldiers all in black.
The soldiers who according to reports came in two pickup trucks started shooting at unarmed boys who had gathered under a tree discussing in a place known as Lala Wotoye.
It was a summary execution the neighbourhood has just witnessed as the community was in total
wailing and mourning for the lost of their friends and children.
An eyewitness narrated that some of the children were carried away to an unknown location. The eye witnessed also narrated that the children killed were all innocent as none of them was a separatist fighter, Amba boy, but children who gathered to smoke weed and chat when bored on Ghost Town days.
Immediately after the execution, pictures of the killings flooded the social media why many lamenting the killings of young and aspiring Cameroonians.
The corpses of the innocent guys killed were later demanded by the authorities but unfortunately for the, the corpses have been carried away.
The killings came to add to other killings that have been reported in other parts of the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon as the Anglophone Crisis continue to escalate.
No official comment has been made by the government regarding the summary execution at the Bakweri Town neighborhood in Buea, Southwest Region of Cameroon.
