The play-offs of League 1 has come down to the last league matches this, but the ultimate winner is not yet confirmed. The title race would have been sealed if UMS of Loum had defeated Apejes last weekend, but they were beaten 0-1.
Last year’s winners Coton Sport also compromised her chances after they pulled a 1-1 draw with Dragon of Yaounde. However, on Sunday, both sides will meet to decide who will be crown this year’s champions in Cameroon League 1.
Meanwhile, in the battle for survival taking place in Limbe, there is so much suspense as none of the six clubs has survived relegation. Out of the six clubs, Unisport of Haut-Nkam is the only side that has no survival hopes. They have officially been relegated to League 2.
It will be a tough battle when seven points Union of Douala will clash against five points PWD of Bamenda that are the only unbeaten side in the play-offs. Another crucial game will be when New Stars take on local rivals Astres of Douala. For Fovu of Baham, they will challenge already relegated Unisport of Haut-Nkam.
The winner shall be known at the end of last match day games this weekend. Normally, the last games kick off simultaneously to avoid unfair permutation should they play at different times.
Not only is the champion not yet confirmed, a couple of teams still stand a chance to find themselves in safety zones as the relegation battle goes crazy. No one is guaranteed safety in the relegation battle as all the six clubs will go in for the decider this Sunday, June 9 in Limbe.
