The Southwest Regional football League will be on the last day of play across the region this Saturday as clubs battle for Mini Interpools tickets.
For others, it will be a battle for survival in the Regional League while to some it will just be playing for pride.
Some eight games have been scheduled to take place in the towns of Limbe, Kumba, Tiko and Buea on Saturday, June 22. We take a look at the stakes in some of these games as we go into the last day of play.
In Tiko
Ajax FC of Likomba vs Cinyodev FA
After a good start, Cinyodev FA finds themselves on the last day in the ‘if’ theory. Their fate is not in their hands as they will need to beat Ajax and pray NQSA lost to ISOHSA in the Limbe derby. A point separates log leaders NQSA with 24 points and Cinyodev FA with 23 points. The Checky Boys will need to win and pray that NQSA draw or suffer defeat.
EEMSA Vs Buea United FC
All the four clubs in Pool b have a chance of qualifying for the Mini Interpools. Catholic Univ. SA(16),EEMSA(15), Buea United FC (14), Continental FA (13) all have a chance of going through. This is the battle between the 2nd EEMSA and the 3rd Buea United FC in Pool B with just a point separating the two sides. A win for any of the two teams and a defeat for CUSA will see any team in this game moving to the first position. Buea United FC will be looking to continue her winning streak while for EEMSA, they will be looking forward to getting back in winning ways.
In Kumba
Bau Manibok Vs Kumba Lakers
In Pool D taking place in Kumba, bottom place Bau Manibok will take on with six points will face Kumba Lakers who are currently second with 7 points. A victory for Lakers and a defeat for group leaders PWD Kumba with 10 points will see leakers top the group.
Treviso Vs PWD Kumba
In this game, 3rd place Treviso FC will be taking on Pool leaders PWD Kumba that with just a draw, they will seal their top spot in the Pool. PWD are currently leading the group with 10 points in 5 games and a draw will see them move 11 points. Should they suffer a defeat in the hands of Treviso FC and Lakers beat Bau Manibok, PWD will drop to the second position on goal differences.
Buea Molyko Omnisport Stadium
Mt Cameroon FC Vs FUSSA
FUSSA will be coming into this encounter with their fate already known as they have been relegated to the Fako League. For Mount Cameroon FC, it is just a game of pride as they have recorded just 10 points in 9 games. A win for them will take them nowhere. It is a game for the gallery for both sides.
Continental FA Vs Catholic Univ. SA

This will be the match of the day at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium with both sides all local sides. Pool leaders Catholic University Sports Academy, CUSA, with 16 points in 9 games, will be looking forward to consolidate their position when they face The Gra Gra Boys in the Buea derby.
Limbe Middle Farm Stadium
NQSA Vs ISOHSA
Njalla Quan Sports Academy, NQSA needs nothing g but a win to see her first position maintain in Pool C. They have 24 points in 11 games and are been trail by second place CINYODEV FA with 23 points. Taking on ISOHSA who have 17 points and a win for them will see them not being able to pick a ticket for the Mini Interpools, It will be as game of pride for them. A draw or a defeat for NQSA will see their playoffs chances quenching Should CINYODEV FA wins.
LIFCA VS Tiko United FC
LIFCA with 17 points and in 7 games a point more than second Best Stars with 16 points in 7 games will be looking forward to cement their position when they face tthird-placeTiko United FC with just 11 points. Playing at home in Limbe, it will definitely be an opportunity for them to consolidate their top spot.
