The newly installed Secretary General to the Limbe City Council, Kinge Thompson Molonge believes the quality of football on display at the ongoing Limbe City Council Interquarters football extravaganza has further enhance the growing reputation of the competition and has given rebirth to hope that what appears good today maybe superseded by something better tomorrow.
His comments comes after watching blockbuster semi final matches which were decided after spot kicks.
Motowoh United and South East Community FC will be looking to reach the promised land via their own rights when both sides meet at this year’s final on August 31,2019.
“The quality of this year’s performance has raised the profile of the competition.
The thousands who have turned out on match days have justified the irresistible nature of the competition. Certainly, there is an air of positivity going forward,” Kinge Thompson said.
According to the Secretary General, the positive and enthusiastic atmosphere on match days have the characteristics of major tournaments and the focus now is to maintain its high standard.
The competition has become a breeding ground for young and upcoming talents and Kinge Thompson Molonge feels the council is contributing its own quota in nation building and integration.
” The Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council has made it his top priority to promote national cohesion and integration through sports and this competition is a servant of that need. Football as always is a unifying factor and it’s our civic duty to keep the flames burning,” he added
