With the new season of the Southwest Regional Football championship yet to be given an official date to commence, clubs in the region have intensified their training sessions.

Going by the National FECAFOOT bureau, Regional Leagues are to commence from November 27.  It is from this date stipulated by the headquarters in Tsinga Yaounde that Regional bureaus will be able to come out with their kick off dates.

Despite the fact that some clubs are busily preparing for the championship, some are yet to register for the upcoming season.

However, after missing out on a chance to pick a League two ticket at the just ended National Interpools in Bertoua, the season promises to be a tough one in the region. The Region has gone for more than five years without a professional League club after a series of failed attempts.

Newly promoted clubs like Options Sports Academy of Limbe, HO Academy of Buea, NEMFA of Nguti amongst others, are some of the newly clubs to challenge for the ticket this year.

Meanwhile, old names like Victoria United aka Opopo with a change at the helm of the presidency, will be looking forward to correct their wrongs after a poor run of results last season.

Buea United FC after a successful congress that saw the club making public its goals and objectives this year, the boys of President Valery Kadji will definitely be looking to set up a tough challenge.

A series of friendly games are currently taking place across the region as the clubs await the commencement of the new season.
