ISOHSA’s fairy-tale start to the season came to an end on Saturday after losing 2-1 to ambitious Options Sports academy in the second phase preliminary round of the national challenge cup.

Goals from Rijkaard Ngale were enough to see off a never say die ISOHSA side that was keen to continue their fine form across all competitions this term.

Both teams had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half but the deadlock was finally broken in the second half when Rijkaard produced a moment of individual brilliance to open the scoring for Options Sports Academy.

One soon became two as Options Sports Academy kept piling the pressure on the opponent’s backline and were duly rewarded fifteen minutes from time when John Paul setup Rijkaard Ngale for his second of the match.

The goal did little or no damage to Coach Ayissi Lucas’ boys are they kept composure. Donhda Randin pulled one back for ISOHSA with five minutes remaining however it counted for nothing despite a late scare from ISOHSA.

The Draw for the next phase of the competition will take place on Tuesday at the headquarters of Southwest FECAFOOT in Buea
