Daniel Walindjom, head coach of Options Sports academy has cautioned his charges not to take the foot off the gas that’s after a hard-fought 2-1 win over city rivals ISOHSA on Saturday in the second phase preliminary round of the Cup of Cameroon at the Limbe Community field.

The Southwest regional league newcomers are on a run of three games without defeat across all competitions and while coach Walindjom has built the team in his image he wants his players to remain humble and positive in their reactions.

Options SA have become a different proposition since the former Union of Douala replaced Njikeli Merlin in the off-season. Lack of efficiency in the final third on the opening day of the Southwest Regional championship saw the growing football firm share the spoils with LIFCA.

The club regained its winning touch in the cup after dismissing Continental FA. A combination of good results has now changed the dynamics in the locker room and there are growing feelings Options SA can make a strong case in the cup.

Daniel Walindjom:  “We are determined to go places in the cup and with the squad in-depth and the quality and character we have in the changing room, we are positive the best is yet to come”

The game against Isohsa provided the opportunity for the coach to evaluate some of his fringe players and certainly, he was not disappointed with what he saw.

“This match gave us another opportunity to evaluate some of our players and I can confidently they gave a good impression. We shall keep working because this competition is not a sprint but a marathon”.

Options SA will find out their next opponent in the cup when the draw would be made on Tuesday
