Isle of Hope Sports Academy, ISOHSA, skipper Hoshala Eboa Besumbu has been a formidable force in the club’s success so far.
The product of ISOHSA is becoming a household name in the Southwest Regional Championship with reports of League 1 and 2 clubs in Cameroon after his signature. The 20-year-old versatile player has been identified with development at ISOHSA.
Known for his workaholic attitude, self-discipline, a team player amongst others, saw the club’s management handing over the armband to the 20-year-old to lead the club.
The left footed midfield maestro has shown that there is still room for development despite many associating his play style with that of Spanish midfield maestro David Silva.
Last year, he was involved in close to 15 goals with the club in all competitions. This saw him assisting in 9 and scoring 6 goals last season.
Although one of the youngest in the squad, Hoshala has been able to captain his team to many victories without protest from senior players.
This has seen many of his teammates and fans nicknamed him ‘Captain Fantastic’ due to his leadership qualities that have seen the squad operating as a unit.
Play Style
Hoshala Eboa Besumbu is a versatile midfielder but mostly operating as a number 10. Although in some games he is used both as a winger and at times as an offensive midfielder.
He is a lock-picker who could be trusted to take up his own position anywhere in the forward areas and seen by others as a free thinker.
The talented agile left-footed player demonstrates qualities of splendid first touch, good dribbling skills, and outstanding technical ability, which, along with his intelligent attacking movements, allow him to create chances in tight spaces for himself and teammates to break a resilient back four.
With the ball, he is so composed with the ball, has a great vision, passing accuracy, ability to read the game, pick a pass, and control the tempo of his team’s play most times.
He is also capable of scoring goals especially outside the box as well as creating goal scoring chances. At times he plays as a deeper-lying central midfielder that allows him to pick out runs made by his teammates.
