SW Championship: Ebot Strikes Late As Cinyodev Edge CUSA 2-1

Ebot Bessong struck late for Cinyodev FA as Coach Ndip Ben Ntui’s men opened the Southwest Regional Championship season with a 2-1 win over Catholic University Sports Academy, CUSA.

The Checky Boys as they are fondly called wen down in the game in the early minutes of the game when CUSA got the curtain raiser through Ngando Freddy at the 5th minute.

Down in the early minutes, Cinyodev continues their dominance despite being down.

Their efforts will later yield to a penalty but they failed to convert the spot-kick.

Attacking threats from the attacking machinery of Cinyodev were all thwarted by the resilient backline of CUSA.

With just six minutes to the end of regular playtime, substitute Ekane Terry will level scores at the 84th minute to make it 1-1.

With the newfound spirit and tactical changes that saw Coach Ndip bringing on a couple of players, the rhythm of the game gained so much intensity.

Substitute Ebot Bessong smashed home at the 90th minute to give Cinyodev FA the late win over CUSA.

The win now put Cinyodev at the top of the group alongside the University of Buea FC that also beat Mount Cameroon FC 2-1.

Cinyodev will on Thursday, February 20 face the University of Buea FC at the Molyko Stadium in a delayed fixture of Matchday one.
