The relegation battle for Northwest region’s outfit at the ongoing Elite Two championship gets tougher with just a few days of play left.

Things got worst lately when they were beaten by Renaissance FC of Ngoumou on matchday 23, 2-1 in Bamenda.

Foncha Street FC currently first from the bottom of the Elite Two championship was hoping that a win against Renaissance FC of Ngoumou will rekindle their survival hopes. However, it wasn’t the situation as they failed to win at home in Bamenda.

The newly-promoted side from the Northwest Region has seen their form dropping as the championship draws closer to the end. They have spent a better part of the championship battling for survival as their form continues to fluctuate.

Out of 23 games played so far in the Elite Two championship this season, the club has suffered eight defeats. The highest suffered by any of the clubs in the championship.

Also, they have recorded just 13 points in the 21 games they have played and currently sit at the bottom of the log. They have recorded just two wins and have suffered ten draws with nine defeats so far. The club has also scored 19 goals conceding 31 to have a deficit of -12 goals in 21 games.

They have the second-worst defence line after AS Matelot that has conceded 39 goals so far this season. Reports have it that the clubs form has not been the best due to lack of finance.

Meanwhile, at the top of the log, Les Atsres of Douala is currently first with 40 points and are closely followed by YAFOOT and Renaissance FC of Ngoumou respectively with 35 and 33 points.

At the bottom of the log, Leopard of Douala is on the 12th spot with 20 points, AS Matelot is 13th with 17 points while Foncha Street FC is bottom with 13 points after playing 21 matches in the ongoing Elite Two championship.

With just three days of play left in the championship, Foncha Streets FC hopes of remaining in the Elite Two keeps getting slimmer as the days go by.

For them to survive relegation this year, they will need to win all their games and hope that those above them should fail to win a single game. A situation which seems very impossible but this is football where everything is possible.

Foncha Street FC that gained promotion last year into the Elite Two championship is on his way to relegation should they fail to win their last three games and hope.
