Southwest Championship: Unofficial Standings In All Seven Pools

The first round of the Southwest Regional League ended on Sunday, March 1 after matchday 5 matches in Pool A took place at the Buea Municipal Stadium.

Only Continental FA, Cinyodev FA, Nkamanyi FI and Tiko United FC have recorded a 100 percent success rate in the first round of the championship. They have all won their games.

Also, to join the above sides as unbeaten clubs are Victoria United FC, Options SA, LIFCA and Future Dreams that are unbeaten but don’t have a 100 percent success rate.

Meanwhile, Dynamic FC, NQSA, NEMFA, Little Foot FC and EEMSA have picked up point(s) but are yet to register a single victory. The worst in this category are Future Stars SA(FUSSA), Mount Cameroon FC and Bau Manibok FC that are yet to pick a single point.

In Pool A, Continental FA is at the top of the log after a 100 percent record that has seen the Gra Gra Boys conceding three goals and scoring 11 in four games.  Meanwhile, Dynamic FC has rather been the worst side in this pool as they have conceded 22 goals scoring just four.

Pool B which is one of the two pools made up of Buea clubs is dominated by Cinyodev FA that have registered three wins in three games to sit top of the pool.  On their part, Mount Cameroon FC is yet to win a single game since the season started. It seems as if the Lava Boys have stopped spitting lava.

Pool C is one of the two pools made up of Limbe clubs. The battle here is a tied one with both clubs at the top separated by goal difference.  Both sides have picked up points from FUSSA with LIFCA scoring nine goals while Options scored seven. The battle in the second round will be when both LIFCA and Options will meet to battle it out for the top spot.

In this Pool, Victoria United FC aka OPOPO is first on the log with five points with just a point separating them from 2nd and 3rd place ISOHSA and Best Stars. OPOPO are unbeaten in this pool after pulling tow draws against Best Stars and NQSA while beating ISOHSA.

Pool E is made up of clubs based in Meme Division just like Pool F.  Here, newly promoted Future Dreams FC is unbeaten as they lead with four points in two games. They will have to fend pressure from Treviso FC that is currently behind them. The group is still open and 3 place NEMFA could still head the group should they win all their second round matches.

In Pool F, it is Nkamanyi FI that has recorded a 100 percent success that has seen them leading the Pool with six points in two games. The newly promoted side has braved the odds to beat big guns like Kumba Lakers and Bau Manibok FC.

Meanwhile, Pool G that is made up of clubs based in Tiko is dominated by the legendary Tiko United FC aka Samba Boys. The Samba Boys have been dancing the Samba dance as they lead the Pool with a 100 percent record in three games. Although they started late in preparations, they later on picked up the steam thanks to Cup of Cameroon playoffs exploit.
