The race to get the signature of Cameroon keeper Andre Onana who currently plays for Ajax Amsterdam is getting interesting with big clubs from the Spanish and English leagues gunning for his signature.
Going by reports from Barcelona, the Spanish side is eyeing a move for the Cameroonian keeper who has been exceptional in between the sticks for Ajax. It is, however, not certain if the goalkeeper will be interesting to return to Camp Nou after he was sold some years ago.
He will also have to face a tough competition from German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen that has a contract that runs until June 2022. With an extension yet to be arrived at, Barcelona could be lining up a move for Onana as a backup plan.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Cameroonian keeper is heavily linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga who has been unconvincing lately.
Another suitor is Tottenham that is already considering a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Onana’s contract with Ajax will end in June 2022.
