Former Les Elephants skipper Yaya Toure has picked Indomitable Lions skipper Samuel Eto’o over compatriot Didier Drogba in his all-time five best players.
This was when the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, winning captain on FIFA’s social media account was answering questions from fans.
Questioned on his all-time five best players he has shared the dressing room within his career, Yaya Toure named his Barcelona teammates with just Samuel Eto’o of the lone African.
The former Ivory Coast skipper omitted Ivorian legend Didier Drogba despite sharing the dressing room with him for almost a decade at the national team.
“Messi, Henry, Eto’o, Iniesta and Xavi,” Yaya Toure said before adding: “In that era they were unbeatable.”
Yaya Toure has played with a couple of football greats in his football career that has seen him playing with nine clubs. The Four Time African Player of the year at the age of 36 currently plays with Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai FC.
