Burj Khalifa Inter-quarter Tourney Slated August

The maiden edition of the Burj Khalifa Inter-quarter competition sponsored by DA Jungle Group of Companies has been slated for August 2020.

The competition will feature some 12 quarters in the Buea to foster unity and togetherness amongst others. The competition will take place in August on a date yet to be decided by the organisers of the competition.

The news of the competition is already making waves in and out of the Buea Municipality as some teams have already started training ahead of the kickoff date.

Going by the organisers, the 12 clubs from different quarters in Buea will be given 18 jerseys per club alongside football socks.

The 12 quarters to take part in the competition are Muea, Mile 16, Molyko 1(Check Point), Molyko 2 (UB Junction), Bonavada, Ndongo, Biaka, Soppo, Clerks’ Quarters, Federal Quarters and Bokwango.

During a meeting that took place recently with the clubs, the organiser, Emmanuel Agbor aka Alabas pointed out that the tournament will take place at the GTHS Molyko field.

According to him, the winner of the maiden edition will take home FCFA 500,000, while the runners up and third place will receive FCFA 200,000 and 50,000 respectively.

Other awards like Highest Goalscorer, Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Man of the Match, Best Referee, and Best Fans’ Club will each receive FCFA 10,000.

Meanwhile, the Most Discipline Team will take FCFA 20,000 while nine clubs will have a consolation prize.
