Muea FC showed a never-say-die attitude to come back late in their last Pool C match against UB Junction FC as they scored two last minutes goals to seal a quarterfinals spot after a 2-2 draw again.
UB Junction came into the game as underdogs with just a point in their last two games, but they put on a splendid performance that saw them taking a 2-0 lead in the encounter that was full of fireworks. However, their hearts were broken 10 minutes to the end of the game as Muea FC came from behind to equalise.
The early hours of the game saw UB Junction enjoying ball possession while also squandering a good number of chances. Getting frustrated that the goals were not forthcoming, their fans continue to cheer up the players as they await the curtain-raiser.
Their players were finally answered at the 29th minute when their forward, Emmanuel Che saw his free-kick poorly handled by FC goalkeeper as it kisses the back of the net.
With a 1-0 lead, the more energetic UB Junction side continue their adventure of squandering goal scoring opportunities. The first segment of the game ended with UB Junction still leading 1-0.
When play resumed, Muea FC took over the game with their layers showing more steam while UB Junction FC players seem to be running out of steam. With both sides making a series of substitutions, intensity returned to the encounter that had seen the tempo reduced.
Muea FC continued to mount pressure as their opponents that desperately needed a win put on a defensive shield. With a draw guaranteeing Muea FC a spot in the quarter-finals, they continue to mount pressure hoping a miracle might occur.
Finally, at the 83rd minute, their efforts paid off as Sona Ekobe reduced tally to make it 2-1. He will again at the 89th minute make it 2-2 sending Muea FC supporters to cloud nine as UB Junction fans put their tales in between their legs.
The draw puts Muea FC at the top of Pool C with five points in 3 games while UB Junction with just 2 points in 3 games, were sent crashing.
